I’m slightly fucked. I think I’m in over my head. Working on this supervisor workstation GUI is a lot more complicated than I thought. I figured we’d be doing the GUI and the GUI’s backend, which would have been a trivial effort. Turns out we have to write the code to receive messages from the GUI on the application side too. That might have been trivial too, but it can’t be prototype stuff. Whatever we write will be for the field. And we have to make it work within the confines of the existing messaging code, which I’m not confident I understand fully. It’s a complicated system. I have a lot to learn. I’d better stop writing.
