X2
Published by Duc May 3rd, 2003 in EntertainmentIn a stunning demonstration of how much we recognize our jobs are doomed, 7 of us saw X2: X-Men United during our “lunch”. Steve (Chap) and Ken opted not to go, but Joe, Brian, Paul, Mike (K.), Steve (B.), Andrew and I caught this at the 11:30 showing. Paul drove in his Infinity QX4, a silly purchase if you ask me. And not very environmentally responsible.
Anyway, the movie was great. The opening scenes with Nightcrawler were very well done. I wish there was more depth, emotion, or drama but I suppose it’s intended to be an action movie, and as an action movie it performs admirably. Nightcrawler’s teleporting effect is great. The scene where Magneto escapes from his prison was aweing and very imaginative. The final act of heroism in the movie was the kind of epicness I love and expect from a comic book. It also makes it obvious where the next X-men movie will lead. A sad ending, but only for those who don’t know anything about X-men.
See it today!
