The New Wisdom

I had my performance appraisal yesterday. It was exceedingly positive so I’m pretty happy. It’s too bad I won’t get a chance to take advantage of all that good will. The next year would have been good for me professionally. I need to work harder on finding a job, though. After a concentrated effort I’ve now been slacking off for a week. It sucks looking for work.

Yesterday after work I went with a bunch of coworkers to Chile’s for some drinks and an appetizer. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go since the only person in the group I regularly talk to is Steve, but it turned out quite well. Steve even bought me a drink, which was good because I didn’t bring enough money. Whoops! Looks like a junior level Associate Member of the Technical Staff can hang out with the more seasoned people after all. Ha! All this social engineering will be for nothing when I get laid off, though. That sucks.
