Good reviews mean nothing when you’re losing your job!
Published by Duc May 16th, 2003 in UncategorizedI had my performance appraisal yesterday. It was exceedingly positive so I’m pretty happy. It’s too bad I won’t get a chance to take advantage of all that good will. The next year would have been good for me professionally. I need to work harder on finding a job, though. After a concentrated effort I’ve now been slacking off for a week. It sucks looking for work.
Yesterday after work I went with a bunch of coworkers to Chile’s for some drinks and an appetizer. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go since the only person in the group I regularly talk to is Steve, but it turned out quite well. Steve even bought me a drink, which was good because I didn’t bring enough money. Whoops! Looks like a junior level Associate Member of the Technical Staff can hang out with the more seasoned people after all. Ha! All this social engineering will be for nothing when I get laid off, though. That sucks.
