The New Wisdom

Birthday 2003

I am very tired. Yesterday I drove up to Jon’s place for more birthday celebratoryness. Following a brief nap in my car on what was a beautiful day (Jon and Cat weren’t there when I arrived), I was eventually given Enter the Matrix for Gamecube (woo!) and plans for the night: going to Dave & Buster’s (woo!).

Jon drove my car to Philly. It was cool. Usually I love driving, but I was tired as hell so this worked out great. I got to be chauffered in my own car! Then it was a dinner at D&B’s where I got a delicious Jack Daniels Ribeye Steak and had my first Long Island Iced Tea. I won’t be having any more of those, thanks. Too powerful and alcoholy for my tastes. Then it was off to what D&B is known for: gameage! There was me winning 3 Star Wars: Pod Racer races, watching this Asian guy win thousands upon thousands of tickets, winning over 2000 tickets (mostly Catherine) upon being inspired by said Asian guy, playing that silly bowling game that costs 30 fricken’ credits and hurts your hands thanks to somebody who left the game with a few frames remaining, cheating at the horse race skee ball type game with too many balls, getting up to 250 points at the real skee ball (I suck), and other gaming goodness.

Then it was back to Jon’s for cake, random conversation, and driving home. It was at least 2:15 when I got home, and 3 when I went to sleep. It was fun! w00t!

After graduation on Thursday I will have driven 700 miles in less than a week. That’s a crapload of driving, and will include 2 visits to Rutgers, a long drive to Turnersville for shopping, and a trip to Jon’s house. I like the idea of getting my car up in mileage as high as possible, so hopefully I’ll see it hit the quarter million mile mark some day, whether or not I’m the owner. I’d like to be able to put a lot of miles on this summer if I’m laid off. Perfect opportunity for road trips.
