I signed up for Verizon today and went for the LG VX4400 phone, which is very highly rated by those who have used it. I got a 19% discount on the monthly rate for being a CSC employee and the phone was $90. I found the rebate form, though, so I’ll be partaking in the $50 rebate that’s currently only being offered online. No guarantee it’ll go through, but it’s certainly worth a try!

I had been looking for months for a new cell phone plan but everything I looked at was just too expensive or didn’t offer AIM through text messaging, my favorite thing about T-Mobile. But upon coming to the Mount Laurel CSC I learned about the deal CSC worked out with Verizon (apparently it’s for all CSC employees, though those bastards in EHT never told us) and also learned that Verizon now supports AIM through SMS. Plus I read about more and more reports from consumers that their network was the best. No more crappy coverage for me. I’ll have 15 days to put the service to the test and make sure I can get a signal everywhere I want to be.
