Nerd Night
Published by Duc October 11th, 2003 in TechnologyI’m pretty sure I could’ve died today on my way home. I was so amazingly tired. Definitely should have gotten some coffee before I left. Now it’s almost 2 AM and my tiredness is gone. Work really drags on you, let me tell ya. And a lot of people were missing from work, leaving few socializing opportunities.
I accomplished a lot of computer-related things at home tonight. I’m a loser! Got my dad’s PC to connect to the wireless network using the USB wireless adapter. While I’m happy that I got it working, my dad’s computer is a Windows 2000 machine just like mine! Why the hell doesn’t this USB thingy work on my desktop? (Read here for details of my problem: help!)
I’m also a few steps closer to starting the Freevo box that I’m working on (it’s a gift). Downloaded Slackware 9.1, found drivers for my TV card, identified the video card that I want to get (and it’s really cheap on eBay), and started looking into buying a hard drive. I figure 40 GB will be more than enough. I’m hoping I can meet with Zuber tomorrow so that I can borrow his partitioning software. I need to make a nice new partition for Linux. I hope I don’t destroy my system.
