The New Wisdom

On my way to the Parkway North entrance on Moss Mill Road I found acres of woodland destruction. Several months ago development started near the intersection of Moss Mill and Pitney Rd., but only on the right side of Pitney (if you’re driving towards Port Republic). Now the left side is being destroyed too. I was running late for my Rutgers trip, but I felt compelled to turn around and grab some photos.

It’s a beautiful day… For destruction!

Now that those pesky oxygen-providing trees are out of the way, there’s plenty of room for people to crowd our schools and roadways.

Never too early to identify the development.

I know there aren’t enough places to live in New Jersey. NJN News was talking about how a lot of people are saying that the high housing prices aren’t indicative of a bubble because there really IS a housing shortage. And I only moved here 14 years ago so it’s not like I’m a native. Still, it pains me to see all the trees cut down and it hurts to think of how much worse the traffic will be around here. I liked seeing trees fly by as I drive. I liked having an absence of cars on Pitney. It’s already been getting worse over the years. I shudder to think of how it’ll be in another decade.
