I’ll admit it. I walked out of Revolutions a little disappointed. I pretty much felt that way because 1.) I had read some crazy theories about what the third movie would be about and 2.) I didn’t understand some stuff. Fortunately I had an English major (Melissa) and a film minor (Brian) with me to help me out. By this morning I was thinking the movie was pretty brilliant.
So the little girl, the future of machinekind, was pretty cool. I kinda didn’t get her importance, why the Oracle was trying to protect her. That had to be explained to me. As Melissa said, lots of balance in the movie: Neo vs. Smith, Oracle vs. Architect, beginning vs. end, man vs. machine. Everything worked itself out in the end.
I liked how it ended the way it began (with Neo and Smith destroying each other). I liked that we were shown that some programs (like the Oracle) can make choices. It’s all about choice!
Also, people complain about a lack of action. The Zion battle was amazing. The gunfight at the beginning was pretty cool. And you obviously can’t forget the final battle between Neo and Smith. I thought there was just enough action.
