My life’s great right now, but pretty damn busy. There’s work, 2 graduate classes at Villanova, buying a condominium, and a new girl in my life. And at the moment I’m still commuting. There isn’t much time for relaxing and homework and stuff.
Nor is there much time for keeping up on political developments. Kerry’s surge in the week leading to the Iowa caucuses was amazing. And even though I saw the poll numbers I still could barely believe his victory. He is now 10 percentage points ahead of Dean in New Hampshire too. I had thought that Howard Dean was unquestionably the Democratic nominee to run for president. I shouldn’t have been so confident.
As for who I want to win the nomination, I can’t say I really know. I suppose Kerry does have the best shot out of the group to defeat Bush, even though his appearance and voice make it seem like he’s a walking corpse. I don’t know. I’m still extremely surprised. Dean’s grassroots political machine seemed very effective. But whoever wins, I’m sure that machine can be turned around to support that candidate.
