I’ve been wanting an iPod for many months now, but lately I’m pretty much obsessed. I missed an opportunity to get a silver iPod mini for only $200 (it was used, but even used ones can fetch $300+ on eBay because they’re backordered right now) because someone else beat me to the punch, but that’s OK. I still want one.
I can’t decide if I want an iPod or an iPod mini. When the mini was first unveiled I didn’t really care. It’s only $50 less than the 15 GB iPod and holds only 4 GB? Bah, I said. But then yesterday I went to a nearby Apple store, played with it, and was hooked. The new clickable touch wheel is much easier to use than the regular iPod’s all-touch interface. The smaller size is easier on the pocket. The anodized aluminum case is awesome. However, I’m worried about this sound distortion problem that the mini has. And there’s the 11 GB difference. But how much music do I even have? I’m not sure I have close to 4 GB of music that I’d want to take with me. Another option is to spend $220 on an open-box 10 GB iPod at Circuit City. The 15 GB replaced the 10 GB model, but 10 GB is still plenty.
What should I do?
