I love Pixar. Ever since Toy Story, they’ve never done me wrong.

They haven’t this time either. The movie starts a little slow, but the later parts easily make up for it. And the slowness isn’t bad; it sets up the midlife/post-hero crisis very well. Pixar is so incredibly imaginative when it comes to fight scenes and such. As a comic book fan I really loved how thoroughly and ingeniously powers were used. This is one of the best superhero movies ever. It’s very old school James Bondy too. Also darker than previous Pixar films. More violent and people actually die. Pixar’s great at getting emotion out. Great atmosphere all around.

Voice acting is top notch. One of my favorite actors, Jason Lee, voices the antagonist.

I don’t know how they do it so consistently. I’ve always been awed by their technology, but they have such great writers too.

One disappointment: the short film before the movie isn’t much to speak of.
