Sirius Update
Published by Duc January 15th, 2005 in UncategorizedThings have worked out pretty well. My XACT XTR1 was outputting static whenever the unit began to heat up. I was hoping to get a replacement directly from Sirius, which is where the unit was originally purchased. When I explained my problem, the guy offered a full refund on the unit and docking kits. Woohoo! That meant I could get a new tuner of my choice.
So now I have my Audiovox PNP3 tuner and it’s great. Nice big screen, 10 preset buttons (for 30 presets total), direct tuning, and an easier mounting apparatus. I have the PNP3’s boombox on order so I can try to use it at work. I get a 100% terrestrial repeater signal when I’m out in the parking lot, but I’m not sure it can get through the office walls. Fortunately, Crutchfield has a great return policy.
The programming on the hits-based stations can be very repetitive, but a number of us fans are writing to try to get that situation improved. I still love the variety, though. One night I heard the Schoolhouse Rock song I’m Just a Bill and a radio play of Brave New World. Awesome.
