In Your Honor
Published by Duc June 23rd, 2005 in MusicI’m not a fan of Best of You, the single from the Foo Fighters’ latest album that’s getting radio play, but the album as a whole is pretty damn good. I think I like the acoustic or “cold” disc (disc 2) better than the “hot” disc (disc 1). Norah Jones lends her voice on Virginia Moon and Friend of a Friend is from Dave Grohl’s Pocketwatch album, which I got in college. I never listened to it in depth, though, so I never would have remembered the song if reviews didn’t mention it.
The title “In Your Honor” apparently is a tribute to John Kerry’s presidential bid. The Washington Post describes this interesting relationship. As you have known, John Kerry was in a rock band called The Electras during high school. He has offered to open for the Foo Fighters.
I got the special edition, which features DVD stuff on the other side of the CDs. Apparently this version doesn’t have the copy protection that the normal version has, explaining why I was able to rip the songs with iTunes to transfer to my iPod.
Anyway, I like the album.
