So we got back from Montreal on Tuesday. In stark contrast to my last trip there, getting through the border was a piece of cake. Last time they had me talk to an immigration officer, then ransacked my car searching for stuff. They even took my subwoofer out and carried it into a building (presumably to x-ray or dismantle it). This time it was just a few questions and then I was allowed to proceed (my parents had to pay tax on an item they were bringing into Canada).
Amy came with as she hasn’t seen Montreal or met much of my dad’s side of the family. I’d like to go into detail, but it’s just plain impossible given how busy I am lately. We had a good time hanging out with the family. As far as Montreal sites, we went to the Biodome (which happened to have free admission the day we went), downtown, Vieux Montreal, we attempted to do the underground city (everything was closed when we got there), the Botonical Garden (really freakin’ awesome, especially the Chinese Garden), Mount Royal, and St. Joseph’s Oratory. We also dined on French food for one lunch and one dinner (eh… it’s not everything people say it is IMHO).
Overall a nice fun trip. Next week: Las Vegas. That’s assuming I get all my shit done at work.
